New to UIUC. Took a tour of it yesterday for the first time. Here is my first impression: Not as bad as I thought it would be. 3 buses are on this route to Quad and the stop is directly in front of the building. Not very close to the Quad, but PAR (supposed to be the best food) is right across the street). I wanted to get moved out, but after the tour, my roommate and I decided to stay. It seems okay, rooms are small and the ceiling for bunking beds seems low, but okay outside of it all.

It wasn't a very good place to be freshman year because it was so off site. But overall I really liked living there and made some great friends

FAR was a bit far from the main quad and other prime campus locations but I guess it helped me learn how to get around campus freshman year. Overall, not a terrible place to live but definitely a one year thing...
